Our Mission: Through one-of-a-kind programming and fundraising, we bridge generations and inspire curiosity abroad while providing students in underserved communities with passports and travel grants so they, too, can gain a global perspective.

About the fundraiser:

The Too Fly Foundation is raising $2,000 to provide Virtual Reality travel and educational experiences for students in underserved communities. Because of the widening gaps students of color face in regard to education, travel, and technology as well as the travel restrictions in place due to the COVID pandemic, our Travel@Home Virtual Flight Academy program aims to inspire global curiosity, education, experiences, and student’s personal development from the comfort of students’ homes..

This fundraiser will help increase reach of the program by leveraging like-minded travel brands and influencers to spread awareness via social campaign and help us purchase more Virtual Reality (VR) gear and be able to help bring the program to over 100 students.

Below are some resources to help you learn more about the campaign and can be shared with your audience.


step 1: campaign opt-in + asset creation

Our Travel@Home Virtual Flight Academy program combines technology (Virtual Reality), travel, and education through a curated program with the goal to teach students life skills, nurture curiosity, and develop leadership and creativity. But the core of the program is teaching in a fun, innovative way.

step 2: social media campaign execution

In the campaign we ask that you leverage your Instagram platform and post three IG stories over the course of the fundraiser window (7/6-8/1) about our Travel@Home Fundraiser encouraging your followers to donate and follow @tooflyfoundation. Their donations will help us provide VR gear to students in underserved communities so they can travel the world from the comfort of their homes and still gain a global perspective while there are travel restrictions.

Below are the themes of the instagram videos and when they should be posted, we will be sure to send reminders to you via email! Make the videos your own, be as creative as you want, and feel free to make the style of the ideo fold into your brand.

Week 1: Traveling@Home (to be posted week of 7/13)

As a part of the virtual flight academy, our students will be able to travel the world from the comfort of their home leveraging Virtual Reality. 

  •  In your story Answer the question, “If you could travel anywhere in the world from the comfort of your home, where would you go and why?”

  • Remind your followers the importance of travel and the importance for students to get this experience!


Week 2: Bridging Gaps (to be posted week of 7/20)

As a part of the virtual flight academy we are aiming to close three gaps that students in underserved communities experience. 1. The technology gap, where students don’t have access to the latest technology, or the technology needed to participate in online education programs from home. 2. The travel gap, with students of color only making up 5-7% of those students that travel abroad. 3. The education/achievement gap with students in underserved communities having lessa access to educational resources. 

  • In your story, answer the question, “What is one way that travel changed you for the better where you’ve either experienced something new or learned something new?

  • Remind your followers that the fundraiser is halfway through!


Week 3: Too Fly’s Vision (to be posted week of 7/27)

Because of COVID19 and other reasons, there will be a financial strain on families in underserved communities, making it challenging for students to travel abroad even when restrictions are lifted. It is our goal to ensure we continue to create a world where every student has an opportunity to travel.

  • In your story, tell your followers why you are so passionate about travel and why it is important that we help inspire a passion for travel to the next generation.

  • Remind your followers that this is the last week to donate to the fundraiser!


step 3: campaign close out

Our campaign will officially close on July 31st with a goal of raising $2,000. For your help in our efforts (posting of the three videos in step 2) we will be sending you a Too Fly thank you gift inlcluding Too Fly foundation apparel and tokens of appreciation. For those with travel-related brands, we will feature your brand logo and link to site on our Virtual Flight Academy homepage and in collateral that is sent to students’ homes.
