[PRESS RELEASE] DALLAS BASED NONPROFIT CELEBRATES FOURTH YEAR OF PROVIDING TRAVEL GRANTS AND PASSPORT SCHOLARSHIPS TO UNDER-SERVED YOUTH NATIONWIDE.

DALLAS, TX… The Too Fly Foundation is a creative nonprofit with the mission of providing travel grants and passport scholarships to underserved students who wish to study abroad. Founded in August 2016, the organization has since assisted over 170  students across the nation studying abroad.

In September 2021, Too Fly announced it will be issuing $9,000 worth of travel grants and passport scholarships to over 20 students residing in Texas, New York, Missouri, and Michigan.  In 2020, despite the pause of travel worldwide due to the covid-19 pandemic, Too Fly issued over $8,000 worth of scholarships to students to assist them with school-related needs.

“Unfortunately, I could not use the Too Fly Grant for its intended use to study abroad in Morocco due to COVID,” says New York college senior Arkia Ivey. “However, during the height of the pandemic, The Too Fly Foundation assured that the recipients and students were able to keep the grant. Thankfully, I utilized the [scholarship] to cover some of my tuition costs for my summer classes. Through that effort, The Too Fly Foundation propelled me and assisted me in my education during a time [of] need.”

Too Fly believes that travel is a privilege that every young person should have, no matter their race or socioeconomic background. They also believe that travel makes young people better students, global citizens, and leaders. The organization looks forward to assisting more students as travel restrictions begin to be lifted.

“We need a generation of globally-aware leaders,” says Too Fly’s Executive Director, Bola Ibidapo. “The time to raise a leader is not when they are a CEO, a president or grown up. The time to raise a leader is now. Travel helps mold our next generation of leaders.”
